Professional Bio

Solo artist SYSON is a UK based trumpeter, composer, vocalist, and producer, who creates organic music that mixes multiple genres and inluences, all anchored in emotion and honesty. 

SYSON's debut single 'We're Not Alone', was released in May 2024 with the support of Help Musicians UK. The track is about mens mental health, featuring very raw honest lyrics in the verses that lead into a positive message in the chorus. In August 2025, he released his second single 'The Necessity of Being Present', featuring vocal artist J Appiah, focusing on the need to stay present amidst all of life's challenges. Both tracks were recorded at the renowned Livingston Studios, with post production from Chris Hyson.

 

He has previously released two critically acclaimed contemporary jazz albums under his full name of Tom Syson alongside two British tours, that resulted in a feature interview on BBC Radio 3’s Jazz Now, multiple national and international radio plays, and reviews from the likes of Jazzwise and London Jazz News. Following these successful releases, SYSON was proud to be named a Vincent Bach Trumpet Artist.

 

SYSON is a vastly experienced professional musician having played worldwide at venues/events such as BBC Proms at The Royal Albert Hall, Ronnie Scotts, the Barbican, Porgy & Bess Vienna and Gibraltar International Jazz Festival, and with the likes of EuroRadio Jazz Orchestra, Ronnie Scotts Jazz Orchestra and BBC Big Band. As a commercial composer and producer his music has had international and national television play, including on the BBC.
